There are 2 main types of invitation letters which can be required by Russian consulate in your country:

  1. on the blank of the Federal Migration Service of Russian Federation (FMS)
  2. on the blank of the hosting company in Russia.

Both invitation letter types can either be sent to the invited person by post (if the consulate requires only originals), by fax (a copy) or by e-mail (a scanned copy).

Please contact the Russian consulate or embassy where you will apply for Russian visa to know the exact type of invitation letter you need.

Note: In case the chosen consulate or embassy requests the original invitation letter, mailing fees are paid by the receiver.

If you are not currently employed, please insert the name and details of any company you were employed with in the past, or insert details of any other friendly organization which could confirm you are traveling to Russia on business purposes.
