My experience with ProfIntern was a profoundly positive one. I would say ProfIntern is the best place to find an internship in Russia. I had always been interested in Russia, and was given not only the ability to finally go, but also make some productive advances in my professional life and personal skills.
I had come primarily to increase my Russian language skills, and my time at the Russian language school was well spent, between the practice in day to day life and the classes. I feel supremely more confident in my growing proficiency in the language.
At the same time, I had also engaged myself in an internship through ProfIntern, working part time at the Chamber of Commerce. This worked out very well, as I was also able to spend some time in Russia to gain experience working in a country where business can be notoriously tough. As a student studying International Relations, I feel like this was a good fit. I was able to capture the vibe of working in an international setting, and working with companies from abroad. It’s one thing to imagine how these kinds of interactions work within a company, but I feel like I learned some new perspective and skills being able to experience it. Especially in a setting that was able to mix Russian and English in a way that I was able to work with.
Ultimately my experience in Russia was rife with interesting stories, not just professionally, but personally as well. I have traveled in many places around the world, but St. Petersburg was particularly captivating in it’s cultural richness, and the fascinating people I was able to meet there.
